Notes

Tobruk is first mentioned in the "Coronation List".

This is a schedule of schools that existed in 1952.

The exact location of the school and when it opened/closed are not known.

The map pin shows the former RAF station of El Adem.

The British Forces consisted of an Army port complex, an airfield and bombing range at RAF El Adem.

Although the image clearly shows "RAF Tobruk" this is described as the entrance to the port.
It is also described as "the Garrison".
Someone posted......"I've been through that gate many times when I was 11/12 years old. The RAF school was outside of the garrison on the left hand side of the entrance".

It is believed that there were schools both at the airfield and in the city.

An aerial view of RAF El Adem - the school is somewhere in this image!

One of the final aircraft to leave RAF El-Adem in early 1970.
