He was born in 1932 and unlike many of his siblings who died in the early childhood, he survived until the age of 88, dying on the 3rd of February 2019 after a very short illness. He lost his dear wife Jan in 2012.
At a very young age he lost the sight in one eye but despite this he continued to play a good level of rugby. In his retirement he was very keen supporter of the Worcester Warriors rugby club and regularly went out fishing very early in the morning. He is survived by two daughters and one son and a number of grand-children.
