Obituary: Jinty Cowie

We are saddened to report the passing of Jinty (Jeanette) Cowie on 20^th April 2025 aged 80 years in Banchory, Aberdeenshire, where she lived with her husband, Cleve.

Jinty was a long term senior member of staff at Marlborough First School, Osnabruck and an exceptional teacher who was a rock in the school through a number of Headteachers.  She was an excellent role model to all the new teachers who arrived in the large garrison, offering help and guidance with a smile and good will. She loved the SCEA life, she loved the children and her gregarious personality was ideally suited to the wonderful life we all enjoyed back in those days. Jinty also supported her husband Cleve, who was the Deputy Headteacher at Derby Middle School, Osnabruck.  She is also remembered as being a superb skier, with friends remembering that when you went skiing with her she was very quickly a small speck in the distance - she was a definite force of nature!  Altogether a lively, bubbly and happy character who will be sadly missed by all she knew.
