
We are saddened to report the passing of Jinty (Jeanette) Cowie on 20th April 2025 aged 80 years in Banchory, Aberdeenshire, where she lived with her husband, Cleve.
Ray Brunt died over the Christmas period 2025/2026. Ray taught at Marlborough School in Osnabrück in the 1970s, but prior to that date she had taught in Aden
It was with sadness that the Association was informed of the death of Warren Cantelo. Warren died on 1st October 2016 at the age of 88.
Peter was one of a relatively large number of SCEA/BFES teachers who had trained in the 60s at the now defunct Teachers' Training College in Barry, South Wales.

Bill Bowen reported the sad death of his friend, Tony Chester on 22nd November 2025. Tony was a teacher at Hemer Primary School, Germany in the 1980s.
The Association announces the passing of an icon of the service we worked for. He was the Director from 1976 to 1991.

Sadly, Hilary Clark, wife of Dave, died last September after a long illness.
Jean Corey
3rd April 2020Jean Corey (née MacLucas) a former teacher at St John’s Episkopi. Jean was Head of History at the school from 1962 to 1964.
Barry was appointed to teach Biology in Kings School in 1979 and remained there until his retirement in 2012 during which time he was promoted to Head of Year.

David Cregg
2nd October 2022David Cregg, ex St Andrews School, Kowloon, ex-Deputy Head Victoria School, Hong Kong and Deputy Head, JHQ, passed away on Sunday 2nd October at his home in Sidmouth. Dave was a lovely, generous, honorable and kind man; very much committed to his pupils. He will be much missed by his widow, Susan, and his children Jonathan & Rachael. (Walter Lewis)

Jo Vestey wrote that in May 2025 she lost a close friend of 58 years standing, Chris Crofts, who died aged 88 years. Jo writes that Chris was a well-known figure in the far eastern teaching circles, having first taught in Kuala Lumpur Service School in Malaya, before moving to Singapore.
