Now the Immanuel-Schule.

In 1945, the RAF set up a small airfield in Bückeburg. The HQ RAF Germany was, from 1945 to1954, in Bad Eilsen which was close by. Schooling started in 1947 and the children of the service families in the area attended a small school in the Schloss.
A new, purpose built school was opened in 1962. The pupils came from parents who worked at BMH Rinteln, Prince Rupert School Rinteln and military personnel who were stationed in nearby Minden Garrison, but lived in Bückeburg.
With ‘Drawdown’ the school eventually closed in 1997 after 50 years.
