| Notes Dortmund is first mentioned in the "Coronation List". This is a list of schools that existed in 1952 (but not necessarily using the described location). The map location shows the area of Suffolk Barracks where Alexandra was located. The area has been completely redeveloped but the school and playground were in this less densely built area. The entire barracks closed in 1995. | |
It is interesting to note that Suffolk Barracks was the home to two primary schools.
Alexandra and Alanbrooke were separated by one field......the schools played an annual football game against each other. On the opposite non-field side, Alexandra was flanked by the camp library and MP office (with a path between to access Alexandria playground).
