Notes

St Andrews school is first mentioned in the "Coronation List".

This is a list of schools that existed in 1952 (but not necessarily using the described location).

St Andrew's was the oldest purpose built school in Malta, having been built in 1908.

The site was used almost continuously from that date until 1978 when all MOD schools on the island were handed over to the Maltese people as the part of the withdrawal agreement.
However, education goes on and there is still a school today on the same site. Historically, St Andrew's school and Pembroke Barracks belonged to the Army; other primary schools on the island were originally for other the other services: Luqa for RAF and Verdala for the Navy.

A slightly fuzzy image of the St Andrew's staff taken around 1977.
