Notes

A school in Verden is first mentioned in the "Coronation List".

This is a list of schools that existed in 1952 (but not necessarily in the described location).

Churchill had an annex in Kiel.

Closed 1993.

The school was formerly BFES Verden and was located in Cavalry Barracks.

The date the school moved into new premises becoming Churchill School is not known.

The picture taken in June 1963 shows the playground of the old school with Mr Stokes and his class.
Mr Stokes had a passion for model aircraft and went on to be the HT at Lincoln School in Münster.

The school buildings, after closure, are now used by the "Grundschule am Lönsweg".

The first primary school was located in the area of Caithness Barracks in the building of the Medical Center.
The arrival of many families with children made a new construction in 1968/1969 necessary.
Since 1994 Churchill is a municipal primary school.
The large hall is still used for the morning assembly and there is a school garden with two goats!
